By 1979, the frenzy reached its logical extreme with the production of hardcore pornographic films, first with "Öyle Bir Kadın ki" and then with "İyi Gün Dostu". Censorship was often bypassed through a now-infamous trick: producers would get a "clean" version of the film approved and then splice in short, graphic snippets from foreign porn films before its theatrical release. As Mesut Kara notes, "in the ’74-80 period, to attract the man on the street to the audience-less halls, films were made that gradually became more corrupt and turned into open exploitation".
